Fashion power house Louis Vuitton is making the ultimate pinky promise—a pledge to make the world a better place. The luxury brand has teamed up with UNICEF to launch a global initiative with the goal of raising funds that will benefit children in urgent need. To seal this promise, Louis Vuitton has designed a silver Lockit pendant and bracelet (available at LV stores worldwide and louisvuitton.com starting tomorrow), in which for every one sold, $200 of the $500 purchase price will be donated to UNICEF.
“UNICEF is a strong and reliable leader in humanitarian action. Together, we can make a real difference to children in the most vulnerable situations,” says Michael Burke, chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton. “Our goal is to reach as many people as possible, ask them to share our promise and to make a real difference.”
With the launch of the “Silver Lockit,” which was inspired by Georges Vuitton’s original lock design from 1890, Louis Vuitton is urging others to also make a promise to purchase the Lockit or make a donation, and to share the message on social media as part of its digital campaign #MakeAPromise.

“When children make a promise, they take it seriously,” Burke continues. “These are promises that come straight from the heart. The pinky promise is an instinctive and sincere way to seal a promise and to share it with someone close.”
